Our Top 10 Favorite Irish Artists We're Listening To On St. Patrick's Day

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

And this year it falls on a Saturday, so we're just going to sit around the house and listen to Shamrock Radio on iHeartRadio.

Also, we thought it might be fun to throw a quick list together of our favorite Irish singers and bands this year. So here's our Top 10 list:

#10   Enya

A highly influential singer from Ireland! Remember "Orinoco Flow"?? (sail away, sail away, sail away...)

#9   The Script

Loved "Breakeven" when it came out in 2009! Such a beautiful song from an amazing singer! Can you believe it's been almost 10 years??

#8   Van Morrison

A favorite from the 60s, "Brown Eyed Girl" was Van's signature hit!

#7   Snow Patrol

Ok, technically these guys are Irish and Scottish, but good enough for us!

#6   Sinead O'Connor

An incredibly influential singer who rose to fame with her arrangement of Prince's song, "Nothing Compares 2U."

#5   Hozier

Andrew Hozier-Byrne is Irish and was actually BORN ON ST. PATRICK'S DAY! How about that? You remember his huge hit, "Take Me To Church."

#4   Flogging Molly

This L.A. based Irish-American Celtic rock band works in banjos, violins, fiddles and other traditionally Irish instruments into their hard rock. Makes for great St. Patrick's Day bar music!

#3   The Cranberries

RIP Dolores O'Riordan. She was the famous front-woman of the iconic 90s rock band who died earlier this year. From their many hits, one of our most favorite is their emotionally powerful "Zombie" written about the 1993 Warrington, England bomb attacks.

#2   Niall Horan

Niall makes our number 2 spot! He is the only Irish member of the otherwise English boy band, One Direction, and has since successfully gone solo with a couple of hits... our favorite, "Slow Hands."

#1   U2

Doesn't get much bigger than these guys! One of the biggest rock bands of all time, spanning 5 decades now! They landed #1 on our all time favorite Irish band list.

...and that's our list!

Happy St. Patrick's Day! To hear some of these guys and others, check out Shamrock Radio on iHeartRadio!
