Britney Spears Celebrates 20-Year Anniversary Of '...Baby One More Time'

Exactly 20 years ago, Britney Spears' debut single "...Baby One More Time" was sent to radio and pop music was never the same. On Tuesday (October 23), the industry veteran took to social media to celebrate the mega-milestone with a sweet note dedicated to the fans who have been with her since the very beginning.

"It's hard to put into words what today means to me… 20 years ago, the world heard my music for the very first time!" Spears captioned a montage of the making of the Nigel Dick-directed clip. "So much has happened since then… but what I really want to say is thank you to my amazing fans who have been there for me since day 1. Your support over the years has meant the absolute world to me!! Love you all! ❤️❤️❤️"

While the song made its own impact on the pop landscape, the accompanying video did wonders for her own image and the wave of late '90s pop to come afterward. In the montage, viewers see a young Brit goofing off with her dancers, vintage interview clips and previously unreleased footage from the video, which was shot over two days at Venice High School in Los Angeles in August 1998. Fun fact: Britney shot the clip at the same school that John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John's Grease was filmed two decades earlier.

Spears will continue to commemorate her string of pop classics when she returns to Las Vegas in February 2019 with her recently announced "Britney: Domination" residency at the Park Theater located in the Park MGM hotel and casino. Click here for more information on the venture!
