Tamera Mowry-Housley Leaving 'The Real' After 6 Seasons

Tamera Mowry-Housley is saying goodbye to The Real after six seasons.

The actress, who co-hosted the show since its inception in 2013 alongside original co-hosts Tamar Braxton, Jeannie Mai, Adrienne Houghton, and Loni Love, broke the announcement herself via social media.

“For seven years, my home and heart has been at ‘The Real.’ The friendships that I’ve made there will last a lifetime, and the people that I’ve had the blessing to interview have changed my life for the better. I’m so proud of what all the ladies and I have accomplished there, including two well-deserved NAACP Image Award and a Daytime Emmy,” Tamera shared on Instagram Monday (July 13).

“However, all good things must come to an end, and it’s with a bittersweet smile that I announce that I am moving on from ‘The Real.’ To my fellow hosts, I love you, I will miss you, and I will always be there for you. Thank you for teaching me, supporting me and loving all of me. Sisters forever. I’ll be rooting for you, as I look forward to spending more time with my family, pursuing amazing new opportunities and embarking on the next chapter of my life.”

Tamera is the latest co-host to leave the talk show this year after actress-comedian Amanda Seales announced her leave in June since joining the show in January. Braxton was infamously fired from the show in 2016.

In the post’s caption, Tamera explained that she no intention to address her departure from the show on the same day her friend, Glee star Naya Rivera, was found dead after going missing for nearly a week.

“My heart. So many emotions. So many memories. My mind did not want to accept this. My sweet Naya,” Tamera wrote in Rivera’s memory. “I love you. Will always love you. I’ll never forget your sweet smile, your amazing voice, and your warmth and love that has always welcomed me. … My heart goes out to the Rivera family.”
