Over the weekend, Fergie kicked off the start of the NBA All-Star game at the Staples Center by singing the National Anthem.
But her jazzed up version of the song received a ton of backlash from viewers and some giggles from the players.
Who saw Fergie's national anthem performance at the NBA All Star Game? I think mine was better lowkey— Roseanne Barr (@therealroseanne) February 19, 2018

Fergie defended her controversial rendition of "The Star-Spangled Banner" by telling ABC News, "I've always been honored and proud to perform the national anthem and last night I wanted to try something special for the NBA."
"But clearly this rendition didn’t strike the intended tone. I love this country and honestly tried my best," she said.
