New Weight Watchers App that Targets Kids as Young as 8 Has Parents Upset
Weight Watchers has released a new app targeting kids ages 8 - 17 to help reach a healthier weight through food tracking and the "traffic light system." Over 70,000 people have signed a petition for the app to be taken down.
Parents and nutritionists are worried this will lead to future problems with children's relationship with food, their bodies, and could lead to even more eating disorders. Others are in favor of the app trying to reach kids in a digital age.
